Xiaomi has introduced quite a few smartphones and all sorts of tech gadgets this year, but hardware isn’t the only thing this company has to offer. They have also introduced a new version of their Android OS, MIUI 7, earlier this year. The company has first introduced the Chinese version of the OS, which was followed by the international version’s launch.
The company has released a full list of devices that will get the update, and it’s pretty much every device Xiaomi has introduced since the Xiaomi Mi 2 back in 2012. Anyhow, here’s the list in any particular order: Xiaomi Mi 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4i, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Redmi 1S, Redmi 1S 4G, Redmi Note, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note 2, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2S, and the Mi Pad tablet. As you can see, Xiaomi will push the MIUI 7 update to a ton of devices, which is great news for those of you who own any of these devices.
The MIUI 7 OS brings quite a few improvements over its predecessor. Xiaomi didn’t change much in terms of the design, but they did make a number of subtle changes though. The company has also introduced a whole new theming application which will let you alter the theme of your smartphone the way you want. There are a number of pre-installed themes, but you can always download a ton more. The MIUI 7 also consumes around 25% less battery than its predecessor, and functions about 30% faster than MIUI 6. The company has also included Showtime, Auto DND, XXL Text and Baby Album features, along with a number of more additions.
